More Dam Trouble - Earl H. Smith

Smith's first book was a charmer, and his second is equally delightful. His characters, delivered with a light-hearted touch, could be your neighbors, friends, and enemies. In MORE DAM TROUBLE, he delivers a richly satisfying and entertaining story of small town Maine with all the atmosphere, secrets, rivalries, ambition and jealousy of the real thing.
-- KATE FLORA, author of the Joe Burgess series. Winner of the 2013 Maine Book Award for Crime Fiction

A Maine native, Earl Smith is retired as Dean of the College at Colby College. He is the author of Mayflower Hill, a history of Colby (University Press of New England, 2006) and The Dam Committee (North Country Press, 2011).  He and his wife Barbara live in Belgrade Lakes.   [email protected]

Earl Smith's writing is a delight and so is this latest chapter in the life of Belfry Village, Maine. MORE DAM TROUBLE, a stand-alone sequel to THE DAM COMMITTEE, catches us up with a cast of characters (including a very wise dog named Winston) that is engaging and likable from the first page. Smith's affection for the place is palpable, as is his understanding of its people. I finished this small-town mystery and was already longing for number three. When you're away from Earl Smith's Belfry Village, you miss it terribly.
-- GERRY BOYLE, author of the Jack McMorrow mystery series, including DAMAGED GOODS

Author Earl Smith made it clear he knows his way around a good yarn when he penned THE DAM COMMITTEE a year or so ago. Now he's back at it with MORE DAM TROUBLE, a story that nails you at page one. Will Rafferty get the best of Harry and Nibber and turn the town into a theme park? Not by a damn sight ...
-- ARDEANA HAMLIN author of PINK CHIMNEYS and ABBOTT’S REACH, and Bangor Daily News columnist
