This is a story about a moose whose antlers grow backwards and how he gains the acceptance of others. In a time when the world is becoming more understanding of people as individuals, it's important to understand that it is up to each of us to believe in, and be ourselves to find this acceptance. I hope Moe Pea will help those who are on such a path.
Moe Pea the Moose Grows Up is Steven’s fourth book. He is
a lifelong resident of mid-coast Maine. His other books are two novels, Patch Scratching (Maine Authors Publishing, 2011) and Centered (North Country Press, 2015) along with a children’s book titled Bear Moonlight Sonata (North Country Press, 2015). |

Alyssa Willey lives in her hometown of Warren with her
husband and two children. In addition to illustrating, she
substitute teaches and works for an afterschool & summer
enrichment program. She has also won two local fair poster
contests. She loves doing anything and everything creative
and loves working with children. This is the second book she
has illustrated.
